My Bio Story
People always ask me how I started such an interesting career. That’s easy, I’m a hairy B*tch!!!
Growing up, hair removal wasn’t as popular as it is now. I struggled as a young female with very dark, coarse hair. Shaving or all natural were the only options. My first introduction to hair removal was in the early 2000’s. I worked at a tanning salon (the horrible things we used to do to our skin) and there was a hair and nail studio upstairs. One of the girls offered sugaring hair removal! After my first appointment, I was hooked!
This was my answer! All my horrible shaving irritations, cuts, ingrowns, gone baby!!! While going to my local community college, I took a one-credit blow off class, I had no idea it would lead me to being the one and only Coochie Barber!!!
One project was to research any career; the education requirements, the job placement, salary etc. Wanting to stand out and shock the class, I did the project on being an Esthetician. Back then, no one knew what an esthetician was, even now people hesitate to pronounce it! Needless to say I got an A on my project and the very next semester I was enrolled in the Esthetics program at Hair Professionals!
If you couldn’t find me at school, head to the wax room. I was never afraid to rip out some hair! I was one of only two students interested in and offering brazilian hair removal services. After receiving my state license, I struggled finding a job. Remember that hair and nail salon upstairs, well I became really good friends with them and they convinced me to do my own thing! Building a hair removal business from hair to bare was not easy! But 17 years later, I am the #1 Brazilian Sugar Studio of Rockford!
